CSL's Christmas Assistance Program provides Christmas gifts and meal baskets to families in need. In 2020, CSL expects to provide more than 10,000 gifts/gift cards and 2,500 meal baskets/food gift cards. Below are some ways you can help families experience a brighter Holiday season!

Sign up for assistance – do you know a family that otherwise might not have much of a Christmas? Families in Oak Grove, Grain Valley, Buckner, or Blue Springs, may call their respective office to sign up. In Independence, we made 1,500 family sign-ups available online, and all sign-ups have been taken. If you are in Independence, please follow our Facebook page for any updates on the Christmas Store. Families that live in other parts of the metro area should call 2-1-1 to be connected to United Way, who will help you find a Christmas support agency in your area.

Volunteer – would you like to help deliver Christmas smiles as one of our volunteer helpers? Sign up using this link or contact Sharon Wingate at wingates@cslcares.org or 816-912-4490.

Donate gifts – CSL provides gifts to children up to 18 years old. We ask that gifts be approximately $10-$15 in value, and they be new, unwrapped presents. Want to shop online? Visit our Amazon Wish List to send a gift to CSL. Our most-needed items are teenage gifts, and some popular ideas are sports equipment, makeup/hair products, purses, skateboards, or other teenage gifts. To be delivered on-time, we ask that Christmas gifts be donated to your local CSL office by Monday, December 7!

Let us do the shopping – by making a cash gift, you can allow CSL to go and purchase the most-needed food and gift items. You can also bring cash gifts to any of our locations.

Host a collection – contact our development team if you'd like to host a collection with your office, family, church, neighborhood, or civic organization.
