If you are seeking Emergency Assistance, is the total of your monthly household income at or below the following levels?
(This is based on 150% of the Federal Poverty Level)

  • $1,485/month for one (1) person in the household

  • $2,003/month for two (2) people in the household

  • $2,520/month for three (3) people in the household

  • $3,038/month for four (4) people in the household

  • $3,555/month for five (5) people in the household

  • $4,073/month for six (6) people in the household

  • $4,590/month for seven (7) people in the household

  • $5,108/month for eight (8) people in the household

  • For households with more than eight (8) members, add $518/month for each additional person

CSL offices gladly welcome clients regardless of where they live. However, please keep in mind the following:

  • New clients will not be turned away on their first visit for food, clothing, medicine, or personal hygiene items (provided income qualifications are met). If clients come to an office that is not in their city of residence, Site Managers must give approval before clients may return.

  • Because transportation takes significant monetary and time resources, CSL encourages clients seeking emergency assistance to first turn to an emergency service provider in their community. Referrals can be made by calling United Way at 2-1-1, or visiting the 2-1-1 website.

  • CSL Site Managers have final discretion on how limited financial assistance programs are administered. Most of our financial assistance programs (rent, mortgage, utilities, etc.) are tied to a grant or program with specific usage/residency requirements.

Before you visit any CSL office, please have the following items:

  • Picture identification for all adults living in the household

  • Social Security cards for everyone in the household, including children

  • A utility bill, or other official piece of mail, dated within the past 30 days


Additionally, please bring copies of any or all of the following that apply to your situation:

  • Pay stubs for the previous 30 days

  • Current Social Security or SSI award letters

  • TANF award letter

  • Food Stamps award letter

  • Child support information

  • Pension information

  • Other sources of income


Failure to have the appropriate documentation, and/or lack of available agency funding, may cause a delay in the receipt of services. Assistance is based on a first-come, first-served basis, and no level of aid is ever guaranteed by the agency until it has been approved by the appropriate staff member.
