In 2017, your gifts helped CSL support 6,137 families (comprised of 15,027 individuals) in Jackson County. Here's how you made a difference in the life of your neighbors:


CSL Income Supports  and Housing Programs

  • $1,127,210 of food items were distributed to hungry children and families


  • $127,332 of clothing items that were donated by people like you were given to families in need free of charge


  • $329,290 worth of medical services (eyeglasses, hearing aids, dental work, prescriptions, etc.) was provided to clients


  • $364,612 in rental/mortgage assistance was provided to families facing imminent homelessness


  • $308,042 was paid towards families' utility bills that were facing utility shut-off and/or potential homelessness


  • $17,155 in transportation assistance and/or vehicle repair was given for medical or employment accessibility

  • $37,347 in personal hygiene items or cleaning products were given to families that couldn't afford them

  • More than 2,500 local children received backpacks with all the school supplies they needed to start the new school year

  • More than 10,000 Christmas presents and 1,250 Christmas meal baskets were distributed to children and families

  • $20,994 was spent on victims of the 2017 tornado in Jackson and Lafayette Counties (money is still being spent in 2018 to address ongoing needs)

  • $2,376 to help individuals receive new identifications or birth certificates
