SOCIAL CAPITAL INITIATIVE

FILLING THE SOCIAL CAPITAL GAP

Community Services League fills the social capital gap by providing connections to knowledge and resources. Connections that help people handle the hardships they face today and look beyond the model of dependence - nurturing hope for tomorrow.

The challenge for those living in poverty

People in poverty often do not have good connections and relationships.

Life in poverty is more than just a lack of financial capital. It is also the result of a lack of social capital for people struggling to get by. Social capital is the combination of all the connections we have. Connections to people who can provide know-how and experience, as well as access to resources that can help us overcome challenges in life. People in poverty often do not have good connections and relationships. This lack of support makes it more difficult to handle hardships.
