Our Approach
What makes CSL different?
How does CSL engage and work with its neighbors?
Help for Today. Hope for Tomorrow.
Immediate assistance and long-term opportunity aren't competing priorities. They are two connected parts of lasting stability.
Help for Today
When a neighbor faces a crisis, food, housing assistance, utility support and other essential resources can create breathing room and help restore stability.
Hope for Tomorrow
Coaching, career training, financial tools and housing opportunities help neighbors pursue their goals, strengthen resources and build a more secure future.
7 Principles. One Connected Approach.
These seven principles shape how we approach all that we do, and how we show up for our neighbors.
Strengths-Based
We recognize people's capabilities, experiences and potential, not just the challenges they are facing. Support builds on what is already working.
Coaching, Not Just Case Management
Beyond connecting people to resources, coaching helps neighbors define their own goals, explore options and build skills for the future.
Whole-Family Support
Our two-generation perspective recognizes that parents, caregivers and children influence one another's wellbeing and opportunities.
Integrated Services
Housing, employment, financial wellbeing, family support and basic needs are connected because real life doesn't fit neatly into program categories.
Community-Based
We work through local sites and relationships, collaborating with schools, employers and community partners where neighbors live and work.
Low-Barrier Assistance
We aim to make it easier to ask for help, understand available options and take the next step with dignity and respect.
Help Today. Hope Tomorrow.
We respond to urgent needs without losing sight of a neighbor's longer-term goals. The best support makes room for both immediate relief and future possibility.
Coaching, Not Case Management
CSL believes people are the experts in their own lives. Our coaches don't tell someone what they should do next. They listen, ask questions, help identify strengths and work alongside each person as they build the future they want.
Case Management Approach
Case management can be important when someone needs immediate services, resources or help navigating a complex system.
Coaching Approach
Coaching goes beyond solving an immediate problem. It creates a partnership where people set their own goals, recognize their strengths and build lasting momentum.
One Family. More Than One Kind of Support.
When Jamikaa and Shannon lost their home, they faced connected challenges involving housing, transportation and financial instability while caring for their children.
CSL worked with the family across those challenges, connecting career training, transportation support, financial coaching and housing-related help. The point wasn't to treat each issue as an isolated problem. It was to help the family work toward the stability and opportunities they wanted.

Food & Nutriution Assistance
