Community Services League hosts an array of spectacular events throughout the year to highlight our efforts of supporting our mission through philanthropy. Our upcoming signature events are detailed below.

Swing by Swing

Join us on the green this spring, with a new June date at Drumm Farm for our 13th Annual CSL Golf Classic. Enjoy 18 holes of golf (foursome, scramble format), tournament day contests, games, full breakfast, delicious lunch, drinks, raffles, and watch our winning teams be selected as the tournament champions! A great day of golf and fun while supporting our neighbors in need.

Join us at the 16th Annual Fashion for Compassion brunch and fashion show event. This wonderful morning event full of excitement with friends includes a huge raffle and silent auction, boutique shopping experience, brunch, and fashion show, all while benefitting CSL’s children’s programs including Back to School Fair, annual Christmas Store, and family stability programs.

NEW VENUE FOR 2026 | The Midland Theatre

This spectacular, highly anticipated event, LUMINOUS: Lighting Pathways to Change – continues to welcome more than 600 of our most prominent supporters and is CSL’s premiere evening Gala. We look forward to celebrating 110 years of continuing with Bess Wallace Truman’s legacy of making meaningful and lasting change in our neighbors’ lives at this one-of-a-kind event. Join us for our most extravagant event full of happenings beginning with our welcome reception, followed by a lovely dinner, program, exclusive live auction and a live, high-energy music performance accompanied with dancing to close out the evening.

Community of Christ Auditorium

Hundreds of Independence 4th graders will fill the front balcony of the Community of Christ Auditorium along with a chosen High School choir, Music Arts Institute students, and the Spirit of Independence Band to sing to the Mayor of Independence.

It is an exciting experience for the students and their families, and with the support of sponsorships provided annually by local businesses, and support from our donors and community partners more than 3,500 guests can attend this wonderful holiday tradition FREE of charge!
