EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

PATHWAYS TO MEANINGFUL WORK

The Employment Services program offers training, coaching, and connections – as well as wrap around support services – to help people get and keep jobs. Your generous support helps provide pathways to meaningful work for those in need.

THE CHALLENGE FOR PEOPLE LIVING IN POVERTY

These factors conspire to make it difficult for people in poverty to work their way out.

Life in poverty creates barriers for people working to get ahead in life. Opportunities to earn more money are limited by a lack of guidance and resources to access education and training. Instability in life makes consistent workforce participation difficult. Plus, a lack of knowledge and resources to find and apply for employment in a digital world creates additional challenges.

On top of it all, many people who are working to get ahead have to contend with the benefits cliff – where a small increase in earnings can trigger the loss of aid, making their financial situation even worse. All these factors conspire to make it difficult for people living in poverty to work their way out.
