2025 Neighborhood Clean-Up

We want to help your neighborhood shine! June 9-13, 2025, our crew will be responding to opportunities to remove litter from Independence residential areas and neighborhoods.

Here are the details (scroll down to submit a clean-up request):

First, we are not a free junk removal service. Our crew focuses on litter removal and doesn’t have the equipment or expertise to haul off large items. Here are some example scenarios where we could help out local residential areas:

1) A fence or tree line that has collected trash.

2) A vacant lot where roadside litter has accumulated.

3) A ditch, basin, creek, stream, or wooded area that is easily accessed where trash has gathered at the edge (where we could easily reach without risk to our crew).

4) Areas in the right-of-way (10 feet from the street) where trash has accumulated.

We are unable to enter private property and remove trash and debris. To report a code violation on private property, please use this City of Independence tool. We are unable to remove hazardous materials, including tires, and reserve the right to deny a request due to legal or safety risks.
